Starting from scratch
The One has been entirely developed in-house by our team in Luxembourg. Both the hardware and software have been designed from the ground up, making it a completely new solution. The One features brand-new hardware that is entirely different from the technology used in our professional solution, the Tool.
Starting from scratch posed a significant challenge, requiring us to rethink every aspect of the design to create a completely new solution that meets our high standards. However, we rose to the challenge, succeeded, and are incredibly proud of the result.
Adapting software to match new hardware
To ensure seamless performance, we had to meticulously adapt the software package. This included developing completely new firmware and optimizing the read/write protocols to fully leverage the capabilities of this new hardware.
Because the One was built entirely from scratch with a different architecture than the Tool, this is also why we cannot instantly transfer all the OBD protocols from the Tool to the One. Each protocol requires careful adaptation to ensure compatibility and optimal performance with the One's unique hardware.
Ingenious hardware design: 2 stacked PCBs
The new product features two printed circuit boards (PCBs) stacked together, primarily to achieve a more compact design. While this design choice slightly increases production costs, this allows the device to connect seamlessly to all OBD ports, including those located in tight or hard-to-reach compartments, ensuring universal compatibility and ease of installation.
Not one, not two, but three custom plastic injection molds
Three specialized plastic molds were developed to guarantee a perfect fit between all components.
The first mold is for the main black casing, which was intentionally designed without the AutoTuner logo allowing you the flexibility to make it your own. As a reminder, we can customize the casing by printing your logo on it, giving the product a professional look that aligns with your brand identity. Additionally, a surface treatment was applied to this mold to create a glossy finish along the edges, adding a sleek and premium touch to the design.
The second mold is for the LED pipe. Because we believe in creating not just functional but also beautiful products, this diffuser is injected with a special material to enhance uniform light diffusion.
Finally, the third mold is for the custom PCB spacer, specifically designed to facilitate the assembly of the casing during production.
User Feedback via RGB LEDs
For easy, real-time feedback, we’ve integrated two RGB LEDs that communicate the device's status to the user.
The LEDs use four colors to indicate different conditions:
- GREEN: Idle / Ready.
- BLUE: Script running.
- WHITE: Update ongoing.
- RED: Error.
Smart connectivity: Bluetooth & Wi-Fi
To ensure fast and efficient file transfers, the device intelligently switches between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi based on file size. For smaller files, Bluetooth ensures smooth connectivity, while for larger files, the device automatically shifts to Wi-Fi to guarantee a quick and reliable transfer.
The switch between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is seamless and easy, allowing the device to automatically make the transition without requesting the user to leave the app and adjust his phone's settings.
Certified for Global Standards: CE, UKCA, and FCC
Our product complies with the highest international safety and performance standards, earning CE, UKCA, and FCC certifications. This rigorous testing process, conducted over three days in an accredited laboratory in Belgium, guarantees that the product meets essential health, safety, and environmental protection requirements for use in European, UK, and US markets.
CAN and K-Line Support
To meet the automotive industry requirements, the product is equipped with both CAN and K-Line communication protocols through OBD, ensuring compatibility with both older and modern vehicles.
